About Me...

Having graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I have been a practicing Registered Nurse working within the healthcare industry for almost 20 years. During my career, I specializing in adult, neonatal and pediatric critical care. I was a nursing supervisor at two addiction treatment centres and collaborated with local police on a child abuse team working with families suffering from trauma, mental health and addiction issues. I later transitioned my career into end of life care and was employed as a RN at two local Hospice facilities and worked within the community as a palliative case manager.

By 2021, I realized that the politics of health care were not aligning with my core values. I took a courageous leap and ventured into private practice weaving my love of somatic, body-based modalities and holistic root-cause investigation to grow my business at the Lighthouse Holistic Wellness Centre. â€‹

In 2022, I graduated with a Holistic Nurse Coaching Certification, an accredited certification recognized by the Canadian Nurses Association. I then went on to further my education and graduated in 2024 with Honors & Distinction from the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada with a Diploma in Manual Osteopathic Therapy.

Currently, my private practice specializes in working with veterans who are struggling with (c)PTSD, addiction & chronic pain. As well as, working with the general public as the Somatic Nurse Coach. My 1:1 sessions creatively weave together my skills as a Manual Osteopathic Therapist in collaboration with holistic lifestyle coaching.  I offer private group sound baths and corporate wellness events around the city of Calgary; as well as, a variety of public mindful somatic group events throughout the year.  I also co-facilitate: Y12SR: Yoga for Recovery, which is a non-profit, trauma-informed weekly meeting and somatic movement group for addiction and trauma recovery.

I am a certified Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath® Professional and Integrative Somatic Trauma Practitioner. I have advanced training in Lymphatic Drainage through the Chikly Health Institute and Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute. I also hold a variety of certifications including: Traumatic Stress Studies taught by Bessel van der Kolk, Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga taught by Stephen Porges & Arielle Schwartz, Sensorimotor techniques with Pat Ogden, Level III Somatic Parts Work with Frances Booth, RYT 300 Hour, Therapeutic Yin Yoga, Usui Reiki, various breathwork techniques and Spring Forest QiGong for Health. The most powerful healing tool I draw upon in my practice is my skill as a Sound Therapist, specializing in the vibrational healing resonance of Gongs, Quartz Crystal & Tibetan Singing Bowls and a variety of other sound tools.

Although I see great benefit in emergency & critical care Western medicine, my true health promotion philosophy aligns with the practice of root cause investigation with a holistic lens. My approach to coaching BodyMind healing focuses on holistic assessments, psychoeducation and somatic body-based and manual therapies. Over the years, I've found it truly empowering for individuals to develop their own sense of agency in order to take ownership of their wellness. This is achieved by learning about and addressing the foundations of health which include: nervous system regulation, sleep hygiene, healing leaky gut issues, consuming non-inflammatory, nutrient dense foods, improving drainage pathways and strengthening organ health for safe and effective detoxing of common pathogens found in today's toxic environment.
