Myofascial Massage in Concert with Vibrational Sound Resonance

Kristy works with a variety of Registered Massage Therapist’s (RMT) in Calgary, AB who are like-minded in their approach to safe and holistic healing.

The intention of these sessions is to approach each client’s BodyMind in a holistic and trauma-informed way so the individual can access a sense of calm and connection.  The creation of safe space allows the Soma to safely release and clear any physical and emotional discomforts.  The hands-on techniques used by the RMT during each session, will also decrease the body’s overall inflammation and fascial scarring for improved mobility an overall quality of life.

The healing benefits of these massages will be amplified through the Intuitive Intelligence of Vibrational Sound Resonance.  Kristy will be using Planetary Gongs, Crystal Singing Bowls, Chimes and much more to facilitate a truly unique and powerful healing experience in tandem with the RMT’s healing touch.

Why is Fascia so Important?

Fascia, also known as connective tissue, is a fibrous web that nourishes and lubricates into almost every structure and system of your body. There are many different types of fascia including superficial layers just under your skin and deeper layers that wrap around your bones and muscles.

Fascia plays a key role in transmitting Hormones (e.g. adrenaline, estrogen, insulin, thyroid hormones, oxytocin) and Neurotransmitters (e.g. serotonin, dopamine, GABA, acetylcholine) throughout your body.  It is directly connected to our Nervous System and Vagus Nerve; playing a key role in our immune functioning and overall Resilience.

Lack of movement, emotional stress, physical injury and historical trauma can lead to the stickiness/hardening of fascia; what I refer to as “the fuzz.”  Overtime, this “fuzz” can build up and contribute to the vicious cycles of nervous system dysregulation, chronic pain, systemic inflammation, histamine intolerance, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

The good news is that you can nourish fascia and the Vagus Nerve by attending to your BodyMind awareness through somatic mindful movement like Yin Yoga and QiGong, or through Breathwork, Mantra, gentle hands-on Myofascial Release and Therapeutic Massage.
